St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church: Pilgrimage to France
September 1-9, 2014
Dear Fellow Pilgrims,
Over the past few years, parishioners and friends have traveled together to Italy and Ireland, entering into the spiritual and cultural traditions of the people of these beautiful countries. With our next pilgrimage to France, we invite you to explore a land of creativity and endurance, a culture of grand cathedrals and artistic and culinary masterpieces, a people of simplicity and sophistication.
We have worked hard to make this an extraordinary experience, brimming with times when you’ll stop and think to yourself, “I can’t believe I’m HERE!” You’ll go from the intimacy of St. Therese, the Little Flower’s family home to the stunning grandeur of the Palace at Versailles. We’ll celebrate Mass in an abbey on an island, and in the cathedral where Joan of Arc witnessed the coronation of a king. We’ll stroll the gardens that inspired Monet at Giverny and taste champagne (which produces inspiration of its own!).
In her autobiography Story of a Soul, St. Therese of Lisieux says, “For me, prayer is a surge of the heart; it is a simple look toward heaven; it is a cry of recognition and love; embracing both trial and joy.” Pilgrimages lead us closer to God by leading us along paths of new discovery. These discoveries and experiences, as participants of our previous parish pilgrimages can attest, not only move one to prayer, but often also settle in the soul.
Please take some time to review this brochure, and complete the registration form as soon as possible to reserve your space. We hope you will join us for an unforgettable pilgrimage! Bon voyage!
Blessings and peace,
Rev. Joseph Madden, OFM Conv. Ms. Cathy Rusin
Spiritual Director Group Coordinator
